Track 3 – Natural Perception – Imphenzia 1 Track Per Day Release Marathon
UPDATE 2014-12-25: This track has been removed from SoundCloud, the marathon tracks are only downloadable for about a week. You can still get it from http://music.imphenzia.com.
Welcome to my complete 1 track per day #Imphenzia release marathon. Every day until I run out of tracks I will release one of my tracks as a free download and write some history behind it.
If you like my music, if you want to support it, and if you don’t want to wait for the entire marathon to finish – you can download all my music as MP3 and FLAC files from http://music.imphenzia.com for what you think it is worth ($2 – $50) – there are 109 tracks to grab =)
The third track of this one track per day release marathon is Natural Perception.
The track was probably made in 2002 or 2003 but it wasn’t until 2006 it was officially released under the name Natural Perception. As usual, the genre of my music and this track in particular is difficult to classify because it isn’t trance but maybe more towards some melodic type of electronic music.
Natural Perception is quite unlike any of my other tracks and it features layers of synths scaling up and down with a number of uplifting melodic synth leads. For the fun of it I put this track in the 2D racing game I was making back then called “Performa Cars”.
Around the time of this release is when I switched from Logic Audio to Steinberg Cubase so Natural Perception was likely the last track I made in Logic. I found Logic to be a bit contradictive to its name (more non-logic =) and they decided to only release it on the Mac so I was more or less forced to change sequencer. Cubase was the logic next step because I refused to own a Mac even though that is the weapon of choice for audio guys – I’m just too used to the PC and I preferred 2 mouse buttons instead of 1.
Again I used the Creamware Pulsar 2 DSP audio card, Yamaha CS6R, Novation A-station, Roland JX305, and various soft synths (some of them native to Logic) that were becoming more powerful at the time.
Natural Perception is the 7th track on my album Illusion released in 2008. The release of Illusion was a bit of a re-launch of Imphenzia following a 6 year period during which very few Imphenzia tracks were released. The main reason for the lengthy quiet period was that I relocated from England back home to Sweden again and most of my gear spent time in boxes as we moved from home to home.
