Track 7 – Evolution – Imphenzia 1 Track Per Day Release Marathon

Evolution is the 7th track in my 1 track per day #Imphenzia release marathon. Every day until I run out of tracks I will release one of my tracks as a free download and write some history behind it.

Evolution was release 21st of December 2008, in three days it will be exactly 6 years ago. Crazy. I remember being very happy with the result and it played many times over and over in my headphones, even though I made it myself. Sad, I know =)
It's about 4 minutes long a hybrid of trance and some other genre. It's mainly ReFX Nexus and ReFX VanGuard default presets as I had recently purchased those VST soft synths around that time. The track has an airy atmosphere with sweeping pads and an uplifting melody commonly featured in my music. There is a different break beat introduced at 01:30 that I remember being quite happy with and then at 01:50 a moment of silence sets the scene for build up with a rapid arpeggio and melody that gradually increases the cut off frequency to morph the sound from mellow to crisp saw tooths.
On my SoundClick page Evolution has received mostly positive comments favoring the melody with some criticism that the main beat is a bit bland, which I can agree with.
This version is the original track released in 2008. There is also an extended version of Evolution and the remastered version released on my "I am Imphenzia" album in 2012 isn't only remastered but a preset had to be replaced since the soft synth used in the very intro was lost in time. I prefer the sound in this original version, maybe because I grew so used to it over the years. The alternative versions of Evolution will be released later on in this marathon.
